Fort Clatsop is teh amaze.

The historical reinactment and lectures at the replica of Fort Clatsop, where Lewis and Clark and their Corps of Discovery spent the winter of 1805-1806, are FANTASTIC! You should definitely go.

Camping at Fort Stevens

We made friends with our campsite chipmunk, whom we named Pouncy! We saw the wreck of the Peter Iredale, which is over 100 years old. Supper was grilled salmon, pesto noodles, and corn salad. This morning the kids have enjoyed biking in their PJs while Tom made pancakes. We let Grandma and Grandpa sleep in until 8am, which was not easy.

End of summer school picnic

We had a fun time meeting up with families in Amelia’s elementary class this morning. The group will grow from 5 kids to 16 kids this year (last year was the inaugural year for this elementary class), and we’re all so excited to welcome some new families to our school! Baxter had a great time playing with some of the older kids too.

Funny things Amelia has said lately

  1. Telling a story: “Once upon a time, back when you had to ask the president permission to mail a letter…”
  2. Looking around at 5 Guys: “This must be a popular place — because look at how many napkins they have!”
  3. Just thinking about eating out: “I think that restaurants are all about the food and the deliciousness.”
  4. Out of nowhere: “I wish there was an end to numbers. So we didn’t have to count forever.”
