I made a fabulous batch of chicken tortilla soup today! Luckily I made extra to freeze, so we’ll get to enjoy it again. The kids loved it, times eleventy-thousand — they even enjoyed putting avocado in (my favorite). It was so good that Amelia let me capture her compliments on video. 😉
Fresh-caught salmon from our neighbor, green beans with brown butter, brown rice, and Tuscan kale with bacon. Everyone practically licked their plates. The kids and Tom finished up with some leftover birthday cake. Yay for family dinner!

Tom’s making pulled pork today and I made rolls for pulled pork sandwiches! Not to toot my own horn, but these buns are really great. Amelia helped shape the small ones. Recipe is from Hensperger’s A Bread Lover’s Bread Machine Cookbook. 
You know that feeling when you eyeball your bulk bin purchase and find out when you get home that you bought exactly the right amount? It’s the best.
